FAQs + Requirements:

  • No previous experience needed! Whether you are new to the world of alternative healing, or looking to incorporate new modalities in your work, all are welcome. This training can be for personal growth and exploration, or to expand your offerings as a healer.

  • A minimum of 3 singing bowls with a travel case are required for this training. They can be your choice of crystal bowls. Please ask for any help in choosing the right bowls for you. We can help you find Crystal Tones bowls, or a more affordable Training Set. If you are bringing the minimum 3 bowls, please bring bowls that skip at least one note between (ex: ACE, BDF, CEG, DFA, EGB, FAC, or GBD). Flying with your singing bowls is very easy! You simply take them as your personal item, in their travel case, on the plane and store them in the overheard compartment. Both Tess and Kate have flown many times, internationally, with sets of Crystal Tones bowls and none have ever broken! We can give you suggestions for flying and will cover this in our virtual pre-training class.

  • We offer Payment Plans! You can either pay in full, or via a 4 installment payment plan (25% deposit and three additional payments of 25%). You must be fully paid within 6 weeks prior to the start of the retreat (Friday, May 9th, 2025). When you click the “Book” link above, it will bring you to a payment page where the initial 25% deposit is due. This will register you for the retreat and secure your room. It will also show you how much the remaining balance is. Once someone has paid the deposit, we follow up with them directly, via email, supplying an ongoing payment link. Some will be paying in full the same day, by making the remaining payment through that link. While others are making multiple payments. Just let us know if you would like a payment plan. We will create an ongoing email thread to keep track of your payments, continue to answer questions and provide future information about the retreat details!

  • Cancellations are non-refundable. If you must cancel, your payments may be used as credit for a future training or retreat within 12 months, as long as you provide notice of at least 60 days. Shorter than 60 days notice will not qualify for a credit. If the retreat is cancelled on behalf of the hosts, you will receive a full refund of your payment. However, we are not responsible for any additional costs/losses incurred on behalf of the traveler (airfare, travel insurance, additional accommodations, etc).

  • What is not included? Airfare- including any local transfer flights, shuttles too and from the airport, spa services, juice bar/alcohol/speciality menu purchases, additional classes or excursions, extended accommodations outside of the retreat dates, personal singing bowls and other sound healing equipment.

  • We have 2 scholarship positions available for local Costa Rican resident natives. You will commute each day and join us for all training sessions, excursions and meals. You will receive a training set gift of 3 singing bowls and tuning fork.

  • Flight Information: You will need a valid passport with expiration date at least 6 months from your return trip. You also need proof of a return/departing flight no more than 6 months from entry.

  • Liberia Airport is the closest International airport and is a 3 hour drive to Nosara. San Jose International Airport is the next option, however it is a 6 hour drive from Nosara. Sansa Airlines has a 30 minute hopper flight from both airports directly to our local Nosara Airport and are priced around $130, each way. Book your hopper flight in advance, as they have limited seating and sell out quickly! If you prefer a shuttle service, we can recommend you use Nosara Shuttle, or Bodhi Tree’s shuttle service. Shuttles are about $160, each way. A more economic shuttle option is via Tropical Tour Shuttles at $50 per person, leaving LIR at 9am and 3pm. Check their site for updated information. Please reach out to us with any questions. We are happy to help!

  • Traveler’s Insurance: This is not required, but can be helpful. You can read more about it, HERE. You may also consider Traveler’s Health Insurance if you current insurance does not cover out of country.

  • Packing for Jungle Weather: Nosara, Costa Rica is a tropical jungle. It is very hot, humid, with intermittent rain and muddy dirt roads- embrace the elements! Pack light, airy clothes rather than thick, skin tight clothes (think cotton shorts/skirts vs. full-length spandex leggings or dresses). It is 100% normal and acceptable to only wear a bathing suit! Some people prefer to cover up with a sunga/wrap/short dress. I prefer to wear cotton spandex bike shorts as I don’t like the feeling of loose fabric on my hot skin. On a typical day, I am wearing a bathing suit with either a short wrap skirt or cotton shorts (as mentioned), and sometimes a tank top, with a pair of basic slide sandals. Water shoes/sandals are best- Keen Hiking Sandals are fantastic, or plastic Birkenstock style slides. Flip flops will suffice, but can be slippery when walking and are not ideal for jungle excursions. Pack sunscreen!!! I keep 50 spf in my bag at all times. You may want to bring a hat to cover your face, as we are very close to the equator. You can also bring eco-friendly bug spray, as desired. A waterproof backpack or fanny pack will also make things easier. The resort supplies bath and beach towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap- please bring all other desired toiletries. Please bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated, and consider bringing a pack of electrolytes! Because of the heat, it is easy to become dehydrated- your body will adjust within a couple days. There is filtered water available at the resort and most places around town.

  • For your phone- You are welcome to enroll in an international plan while you are here, however utilizing wifi will absolutely suffice. You will simply keep your phone on airplane mode, enable wifi calling and then connect to the wifi at the resort. All restaurants and shops have free wifi around town, so you never have to worry about being stranded. You can also download the app WhatsApp, as this only uses internet data/wifi to communicate- text, calls and video chats. This is what everyone uses here in Costa Rica and if you need to communicate with the resort, your retreat hosts or any local service providers you will need to utilize WhatsApp.

  • Local shopping and dining is within walking distance of the resort, including an organic food market and Amazon tech store.
